I don't believe that Wget supports Unified Communication ssl certificates.
I've attempted to send an email to the wget mailing list asking for clarification, but the mail hasn't been posted to the wget mailing list yet.

Does wget Handle Unified Communications Certificates (SANS UCC Certificates)?
Body
We and our collaborators have been purchasing Unified Communications Certificates for cost savings and will be hosting data that will be accessed via wget scripts.
However, it doesn't seem as though wget (version: GNU Wget 1.11.4 Red Hat modified) handles the alternative names in the certificate very well.
Is there a parameter that needs to be passed to allow wget to handle the alternative names?
If there isn't a reasonable work around, how do we submit bug/functional fixes for wget?
Thank you for your time.
