The letters and numbers can cause readability issues in our Forgotten Password email: 1 (the number one), l (the lowercase letter L), 0 (the number zero), and O (the uppercase letter O).

There might be others, but if a user doesn't cut and paste their new password from the email there is reasonably good possibility that the user will incorrectly enter one of those characters.
