Password displayed to the user when it fails validation.

      When I register at the NCAR gateway, if the password is not something that is acceptable (in my case invalid characters), it is displayed. I was quite surprised, since typically we never have that displayed. Usually the error just says it is incorrect and provides pointers to what is valid. Can you point out something like the password is invalid, and only the following valid characters are allowed?
