This issue is now verified from 2 systems at BADC and one external user (CMIP5-HelpDesk query #10)
OpenID login involving PCMDI isn't working on IE8. I get the following different errors on different Gateway/OpenID combinations:
Gateway OpenID Login Result Comment
PCMDI PCMDI FAIL You see the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage " after entering your password.
However when you return to the homepage you are logged in.
PCMDI BADC FAIL Server Error after submitting username/password at CEDA OP
BADC BADC PASS
BADC PCMDI FAIL Internal Server Error at PCMDI's OP.
NCAR PCMDI FAIL You see the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage " after entering your password.
NCAR BADC FAIL Internal Server Error [*]
NCAR NCAR PASS
PCMDI NCAR PASS
BADC NCAR FAIL "error:Unknown request ns:http://specs.openid.net/auth/2.0" at NCAR
* "An internal error occurred possibly due to a request that's expired. Please retry from the site where you entered your OpenID". If the problem persists report it to your site administrator. I've a hunch this error might be related to previous logins using the CEDA OP.
