searching for badc at ESG-BADC takes a couple of sends (not fast but tolerable). After the records are displayed, the54 seconds after the result is displayed the pop up with "Loading, please wait" message that is displayed while generating/retrieveing the facets takes 54 Seconds.
If the same is tested agains ESG-PCMDI it takes 1 minute 53 seconds (yes, I sat al that time looking at the screen... that's what I do all day anyway ;-)

This is not tolerable. I tested it from DKRZ so I expect the results to be interchanged if tested from the other side of the Atlantic.

If the facets take that long to be generated they are of no use. There must be some other way to accomplish this. And while at that, the loading screen should be less intrusive than a popup in the middle of the screen (maybe move to the bottom or over the facets after 10 seconds or so?)
