The current system uses the model_name + simulation_name to create a unique instance in the TS. This is because presently (as of 2/29/12), this is the only way to represent a unique instance.

We have found that simulation name is not part of the DRS, only experiment name.

Experiment name is not unique and there may be numerous simulation under that term.

Metafor is contemplating creating an ID out of the model_name+experiment_name+RIP_value

If so we should consider changing the query from the simulation to the data to include this.
