Affects Version/s: 1.3.4

Component/s: Data Download

To reproduce:
Go to ipcc-ar5 select model=bcc-csm1-1, experiment=rcp85, frequency=monthly and variable="eastward wind" select the only dataset and hit "Download files" and in the following page hit on the download files button again.
ipcc-ar5 generates the following URL:
http://pcmdi3.llnl.gov/esgcet//browse/downloadDatasets.htm?datasetURI=resource%3A%2F%2FESG-PCMDI%2FID%23cmip5.output1.BCC.bcc-csm1-1.decadal1970.mon.ocean.Omon.r4i1p1&variable=cf%3Aeastward_wind®ex=*.nc&sa=1&x=27&y=52
which generates an internal server error at pcmdi.
when the variable value is removed from the query it works and returns all variables (the queried is there)
http://pcmdi3.llnl.gov/esgcet//browse/downloadDatasets.htm?datasetURI=resource%3A%2F%2FESG-PCMDI%2FID%23cmip5.output1.BCC.bcc-csm1-1.decadal1970.mon.ocean.Omon.r4i1p1&variable=®ex=*.nc&sa=1&x=27&y=52
It's possible to sub-select the variable on the left panel and everything works as expected.
This does not seem to happen with all the data, only at certain institutions, i.e. with certain model data and or gateways (e.g. this works: http://ipcc-ar5.dkrz.de/browse/downloadDatasets.htm?datasetURI=resource%3A%2F%2FESG-WDCC%2FID%23cmip5.output1.MPI-M.MPI-ESM-LR.rcp85.mon.atmos.Amon.r2i1p1&variable=cf%3Aeastward_wind®ex=*.nc&sa=1&x=50&y=43)

Dear Helpdesk
today I tried to download a number of data sets for "eastward wind"/"ua"
of the Amon table for:
- bcc-csm1-1, r1i1p1, rcp85
- GISS-E2-R, r1i1p1, historical
- inmcm4, r1i1p1, rcp85
- MRI-CGCM3, r1i1p1, historical & rcp85
- CSIRO-Mk3-6-0, r1i1p1, historical & rcp85
- IPSL-CM5A-MR, r1i1p1, historical & rcp85
For CSIRO-Mk3-6-0 and IPSL-CM5A-MR I managed to download the files.
For the other models, for which the data are stored at PCMDI (unlike for
CSIRO-Mk3-6-0 and IPSL-CM5A-MR), I get always the same problem:
- 1st I select model, experiment, frequency and variable (using Firefox
10.0.1 on a Mac with OS 10.6)
- Then I select the file and press "Download Files"
- Then I login with my openid and get after some time:
"Internal Server Error"
Why does this happen?
Is there any other way to access these data?
Best regards,
Marco Giorgetta
