One thing that can definitely cause the esg gateway to stop responding to requests is to send a significant number or saml remote authorization calls.

We should consider adding caching to the remote authorization calls that are handled by the gateway.

We could also add caching to the tds as needed.

Even caching calls for 5 seconds can be beneficial:
