Recent attempts to delete (retracted) datasets from the gateway are failing with an error. The dataset is not removed after the error occurs. The same (or similar) results happen with deletes from the Gateway UI and from the publisher client.

The same behavior (failing delete) occurs on the prototype Gateway (esg.prototype.ucar.edu).

Acceptance Criteria:

Allow deletes to occur successfully, ideally in a short amount of time.
