In order to be able to edit a dataset's metadata, you need a dataset so the CADIS metadata editor creates a new dataset when it is loaded and saves it. Unfortunately if the editor is abandoned, that dataset still exists. This is a problem as that dataset's metadata is not fully populated with CADIS profile metadata which is something that is to be avoided.
